EXCITING NEWS!!!! (no,I am not pregnant)


I am so proud of myself today!!!! I have been keeping up with my running and I feel GREAT!!!!

Ok, well with more exciting news, I accepted a job today as a Personal Trainer Counselor with LA Fitness. This is the position i was hoping to work towards in the next 2 month, but got the offer today without having to train for a few months first!

Everyone knows how long I have been in fitness and been a personal trainer. I am so excited to get back into a gym and open up the potential for Drew and I to grow as a family possibly sooner than when I am 30.

I start training for this position on Tuesday and will start full time in a few weeks. Though this does mean I will say goodbye to The Little Gym..... :(

YAY, How Exciting!!!! I have been praying and waiting for this day for a very long time!!!

Running, running, running, get those feet running!

So since my workouts have not actually been going the way I originally planed I decided it it time to get back into the running things. I have decided to run on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Plus fit in some strength training workouts in between.

I did well Sunday, ran at Meyer Park and even pushed myself to run a full mile straight and walk an additional 3 miles. Tuesday I ended up having to work from 9-8pm so that pushed my running plan back. I am back on it tomorrow and will be back on track for Friday.

I will post some pictures tomorrow, I know it is more fun to read a blog when pictures tell the story.

Im here.......

I have been keeping the workouts up, just not hopping on the computer to blog about them. Drew has been busy with his business and getting taxes ready since we file quarterly for his company, so I have been without the computer most days.



As I type this entry my arms and shoulders are sore from "playing" at work testing out our gymnastic rings. I need to try to get in some cardio tomorrow, though it is supposed to freeze tonight so I don't know if cardio will be done outside tomorrow.

Yes, I do enjoy my shake weight! I love to test out the "As seen on TV" and determine if it is actually worth buying.



I'm getting a little nervous to remeasure and weigh again in two week. I don't really think I have been putting my all into it, and I don't think anythings has really changed.

But it must still be done, time to kick it into high gear!

Keep on Trucking.....

The workouts are going well. I have been having fun picking a new and different activity each day and have not had to many problems fighting through the soreness. With Sassy around I got some good walk/runs in over the weekend.

Today my plan was to do a kick boxing workout through netflix though my Internet decide to have a slow connection today so that was not possible. i was a little upset at first and then it clicked in that I am a personal trainer and I do not need a dvd or workout plan to make up my own workout.

I ended up doing about 30 minutes of total body strength training and then I walked in place, side to side, and back and forth for 30 minutes as I watched The Biggest Loser.

Drew and I still had Sassy today, she got picked up tonight by my dad. So during my workout this morning she was trying to figure out what I was trying to do. Then she gave up and hid under a blanket. As you can see I was working on my squats and lunges.

Cleaning out and Shaping up

I am still going strong with my workouts. Yesterday I did an upper body workout since my legs/butt/and abs we still so sore for the day before. Now today my legs still hurt and my arms hurt so I got to add in my fun Hula hoop workout. It is a silly workout that is more fun then productive but I still want to put it to the test.


Today I also did my weekly grocery shopping and decided it was time to clean out the fridge of all old Christmas dinner/dessert left overs. Now it is just drew and I so we don't need to much food, so it is nice to see a clean fridge.

This blog has truly helped keep me on my game. I know if I half-ass something or not do a workout at all I know I have to tell about what i did for the day. It has felt good to find about 30 minutes to an hour each day for a good workout.

The first workout is always the hardest

Day 2 and I think I am getting more motivated to stick with it all. Yesterday I took sassy (Dads Dog) to the park and she decided she wanted to run. So she got me started on the right foot and we ran on and off, plus played some fetch.

Today I did a workout video for 40 minutes. I am a sucker for workout videos and I love them. Though I must do them in private. I feel to weird if people are watching. So today I made sure Drew (my husband) was still asleep and got to work.

Another thing I struggle through is actually doing the entire video. The nice part about being at home is if you get tired you can turn off the tape whenever you want. Today I wanted to stop about 30 minutes in but I am determined to stick to this and show you guys how we can all take steps to help ourselves.
I DID IT!!! I finished all 40 minutes plus stretching and jumped into a nice cold shower after it all.


Tomorrow maybe I will do a hula hoop workout I have. Ill post pictures.

I always make my clients take pictures and measurements once a month so it is only fare that I do the same to track my progress. These tricks and tools will help keep you on your game. I know if I keep taking pictures and nothing is changing then I am not doing something right.

- This was calculated with a tape measure and calculations off the Internet. For more accurate % follow skin fold test with calipers. If you don't own your own calipers, measuring tape will do.

Here are my starting pictures. I might be a personal trainer but now that I don't work full time in a gym and have to actually motivate myself you will be able to see my problem areas. Here I am to fix them!!!
-Be sure to take pictures at least once a month and wear the same clothing.



Don't laugh, you should be taking pictures of yourself as well. GET TO IT!!!!

Taking pictures of a body you are working to make better can be hard to feel good about. Always add a picture that you are proud of, this picture I took the same day, just with clothes on.

Time to get going

January 3rd and as a sit here as a personal trainer it is already hard to get going on my own new years resolution. This cold I got has put me off track and today I worked 12 hours so I was not able (motivated) to get in a workout. Tomorrow I do promise to put on measurements, weight and starting pictures.

I get off work at 1pm tomorrow so I plan to head to the park with Sassy and get in a good walk. I don't know if my body is up for a run with a stuffy/running nose so I will start slow.

Today I attempted to eat healthy. I woke up not wanting to eat but had some yogurt, a banana, and took a glass of OJ with me to work. Lunch did not go as well since I decided to grab lunch at quiznos. Dinner drew and I made some enchiladas and I tried to watch my portions.

Tomorrow is another day, I can do it!

2011..Its here if I like it or not


Well I did not have the best start to my 2011 year. I did a good job of cleansing my body after a night with Drew's family and cousins. I ended up spending most of January 1st either on the bathroom floor or on the couch. I did get a good ab workout and am sore today. I do not suggest that workout for anyone.

Now I work on fighting off a cold my lovely husband decided to pass on to me. Today I plan on taking down all the Christmas decorations, cleaning up the apartment, and possibly taking Sassy on a walk in the park.

We are watching my dads dog of about a week so it will give me a better excuse to get out to the park and get some good walks in. Drew and I did take a good walk all around our apartment complex last night with Sassy, so I will have to count that as my short cardio for January 1st.


Today I sit on the couch at 11:30am with a box of Kleenex and some tea. I am hoping with writing this it will get my motivated to get my day started and find the Christmas tree box. I will let you know what actually gets accomplished today, later.
